Strong culture? Or creepy cult?

Having a strong culture in the workplace is important. When everyone shares a common experience, it is more fulfilling than just having a boring old job.

But let's not get carried away. Sometimes, cultures can be a bit too exclusive with their secret handshakes and unwritten rules, and that's when things can get a little toxic, especially for newbies.

So, here's the deal. The best culture is one that's open and welcoming to all. It's like throwing a party where everyone is invited, and the newbies are the guests of honor. During the onboarding process, we want to focus on how we can help our new friends fit in, rather than making them feel like they have to jump through hoops to be part of the gang. Let's make sure our culture is the kind that everyone wants to join, not the kind that makes people feel left out.
